Minolta sane backend?

Hello,

I am wondering that there is no Sane backend for the Minolta films
scanners (Dimage Scan Dual, Dimage Scan Speed,...). I have carefully
checked the mailing list archive and found some messages about the work of a
person called David Rose. It seems that this guy has contacted Minolta
for one year and obtained from them the specs of the Minolta scanners,
released under NDA. But since january 2000, no news from David Rose!
Does anybody know what happened to the Minolta specs and has the work
really begun?
