I don't know much about it, but I can tell you what the programmer of the
backend, Bernd Schroeder told me to do.
Set SANE_DEBUG_MICROTEK2 to 30.
You can do it with the next command:
"export SANE_DEBUG_MICROTEK2=30"
Also, in the microtek2.conf file you can set "option dump 1"
Then you can run scanimage.
To get the ouitput in a file run it like this:
"scanimage --list-devices > mtek.txt 2>&1
You should watch out for a line "Model xyz not supported"
