    Hi!

I have tested the new Mustek backend 0.75 from Henning Meier-Geinitz on
    SuSE 6.3 (kernel 2.2.13) with sane 1.0.2. The #define SG_BIG_BUFF 130559
is set in /usr/include/scsi/sg.h. The scanner reports 65490 bytes to
    read.

My hardware is a Mustek ScanExpress 12000 SP (firmware 1.01) with a DTCT
436-P scsi-adapter that came along with the scanner and 128 MB RAM.

Scanning in lineart mode works fine, even the preview in xscanimage is
    correct.

Scanning in gray or color mode does not work good. Scans with a
resolution above 150 dpi in gray mode are horizontal shifted and look
    like a puzzle.
Scans in color mode even with a resolution of 75 dpi are horizontal
shifted, have some horizontal stripes and the color is not correct.

I have tried the option linedistance-fix, but that does not make any
difference. The option strip-height is set to 1.

Anybody out here who has a good idea, how I can get the above mentioned
scanner work fine in color mode.

    Best regards
    Per
