OK.

I assume you already has fetched the source using 'cvs co'.

Do 'cd src/sane/' (or where-ever you checked out the source.
Copy the new backend into sane/backend/.
Run 'cvs update' to make sure you have the latest files
Run 'cvs diff -u' to look at your own changes.
Make sure you have added info in ChangeLog
Run 'cvs commit ChangeLog <all-files-you-have changed>'
Add comment to be included in the file history

Your changes should now be available in CVS, and a mail will be on its
way to sane-commit@list.uit.no.
