I want to report that the Mustek ScanMagic 9636S works with sane 1.00 :-)
I don't know about the details of the mustek driver (and don't have the
time to get into this stuff), but I can list the things that seem to work:
technical Data: 8-bit SCSI-Scanner
SCSI-card 3181e, io=0x280, non-irq
600x1200 optical resolution
36bit colour depth
Size: A4 30x21cm
supported by sane 1.00 is (using the mustek backend):
grayscale and colour scan
600x600 is o.k.
600x1200 shows pictures squeezed to 1/2 width (expand
them with gimp and it's o.k.)
limitation of the physical scan-range: not tested yet
SCSI-card: runs with g_NCR5380 with dct_3181e=1 (module) or dtc3181e=1
(kernel) set.
-> this scanner seems to be fully supported.
BUT:
it's very slow. The scan speed seems to be acceptible, but depending on
resolution and colour/grey, it stops every few cm's for about 15sec: grey
preview (I used xscanimage) stops once in the middle of the page, 600dpi
color scan hardly scans 1cm at a time.
Can you tell me something about this behaviour? Is this the SG_BIG_BUFF
size problem? Or the irq-less scsi-card (but it doesn't produce _any_
cpu-load)? Or a not-well-fitted-driver problem?
