Mustek Paragon 12000SP V1.02 Problem

Hello everybody,

I'm new to this list (well except that I read some of the mailing
list archive on mostang.com so I know that my problem is not
completely new) and I hope that this is the right place to ask:
My scanner is a Mustek Paragon 12000SP firmware revision 1.02.
It seems that my mustek scanner has trouble doing color scans with
sane.
I tried the supplied SCSI card as well as an Adaptec 1505 controller
- both with the same problem. So I think my problem is not a
generic SCSI problem but a driver problem.
The problem manifests itself in generally shifted colors (red becomes
blue, blue becomes green and green becomes red) with a few horizontal
black and grey lines wherever the scanner stopped during the scans.
This happens above a certain resolution - somewhere about half the
line distance of the scanner - so I guess it has something to do
with line distance correction (though it's not _exactly_ where the
sane driver's line distance correction comes into action but 2 or 3
dpi later).
Nevertheless I tried to disabled the line distance correction in the
sane mustek driver but as you may have though already without effect.
Is there anything else I could try? I suspect the scanner itself of
trying some broken (or at least misplaced) line distance correction.
But how can I disable it? Any help would be appreciated.

Matthias
