    This problem of xsane not finding the scanner device is similar to the
    problem I've got. (see my own post to the list - Subject: Hope you
    don't mind a HELP-ME! post?) (Linux box).

    I'm not trying to access the scanner over a network, just locally on
    /dev/scanner or /dev/sgd.

    Any ideas?
