Hi,
while testing the umax_pp backend I found out that sane (latest CVS)
no longer compiles on the solaris systems at our university. They seem
to have upgraded the OS, so it may be a local problem. I don't know
Solaris at all, so maybe someone can help or test on his own system.
./config.guess
sparc-sun-solaris2.7
uname -simpr
SunOS 5.7 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
gmake[1]: Entering directory /tmp/sane-umax/sane-backends/lib'

ar r liblib.a alloca.o getopt.o getopt1.o sigprocmask.o strndup.o strdup.o strsep.o snprintf.o usleep.o getenv.o isfdtype.o vsyslog.o md5.o
gmake[1]: ar: Command not found
gmake[1]: *** [liblib.a] Error 127
Is ar no longer available on 2.7 or is this an installation problem?
Bye,
Henning
