Calibrate afterwards?

Would it be possible to have an option to calibrate after each scan?
Basically, so that when scanning many pages, the calibration happens in the dead-time after
the scan, when the user is replacing the just-scanned artefact, rather than in the
live-time, when they have replaced the artefact, and hit scan.
It's a trivial issue for 5 pages, but not 500.
