Randolph,
Quite well understood how "other things" thwart our best intentions... it
certainly happens often to me.
Nonetheless, I will start my effort on the fi-4750C with this concept in
mind. I have had a short conversation with Frederik Ramm and it seems that
it is the right time to do this... before we end up with 10 drivers with
mostly common code.
FYI, I have 3 Fujitsu scanners for testing...
1) SP10C
2) SP600C
3) fi-4750C
This seems to be a nice complement to the others that are being discussed.
Thanks for your contributions (and those that came before)... from which I
am benefiting...
Tom Davis

When I wrote the drivers for the m3096g and sp15c, I didn't want to break
one working driver by adding code for the other scanner. That was the
sole basis for having two drivers.
The two scanners have different firmware, and thus have slightly different
command sets. Nevertheless, it seems a very good idea to merge the two
code bodies because of the amount of common code. That was my intent,
but alas, other things grabbed my attention.
I would welcome the effort by someone to do the dirty work, and
since I have both of the original scanners at hand, can help with
testing.
