All,
In case there is any interest... I have begun writing a backend for the
Fujitsu fi-4750C scanner. (As this is a low-volume duplex "production" color
scanner, I doubt there will be much interest.)
Note that the "m3096g" driver (under SANE 1.03) appears to work reasonably
well for monochrome scanning, so I intend to start with it (or the SANE 1.04
version if different).
Which brings up a general question... Since most of the Fujitsu scanners
that I have been exposed to in the past have very similar SCSI command sets,
shouldn't we try to merge the functionality of the "sp15c", m3096g", "m3091"
(re: post by Frederik Ramm), and whatever I produce for the "fi-4750C". (I
have seen comments to that effect, but am unaware if it's actually in
progress). With that in mind, I will 'try' to make my enhancements to a
"m3096g" base keeping the original functionality unaffected. Also note that
the fi-4750C explicitly shares most of its command set with the 4097D (the
OEM manual I received is for both 4097D and 4750C).
If someone has a better strategy in mind, please make suggestions.
ONE more note: In case there ever was a question, the sp15C driver works
fine with the Fujitsu sp600C as well.
