Hello,
in umax 1220p backend, I'm using ioperm to allow direct i/o to parallel port.
So xsane, scanimage and xscanimage have to be ran has root, or to have sticky bit
set. That worries me, since this allow any user to mistakenly orverwrite any files.
I looked into ppdev, which could be used, but it lacks 32 bits EPP
i/o support.
Changing access mode on /dev/port seems pretty dangerous.
So, is there any way to avoid this?
