    Dear Reader,

    Just bought a new Scan-to-Web USB 3300U scanner for our entirely Linux
    based department (> 100 Linux systems) because I understood that
    several USB Acer scanners are supported under Linux (eg Prisa 620 U and
    640 U).

    But whatever I try : I can't get it to work. It is recognized and the
    firmware can be uploaded, but afterwards the scanner just hangs and all
    scanner programs trying to access it timeout after about 30 seconds.

    I use Linux 2.4.0 with full USB support and have SANE installed.
    The firmware I upload is the (Windows) u96v121.bin file. Is this indeed
    the correct driver for this scanner or should I use a different one ?

    They are the ones for the Prisa scanners as far as I understood.

    It reports :
