    Hi William,

    I cant help you directly with the SCSI-card. But did you check the file
    /usr/src/linux/drivers/scsi/README.aic7xxx ? There is a hint about a
    webpage and a mailing list for the driver of the SCSI-card.
    You have solved the problem when you get a printout like

    root:/ > cat /proc/scsi/scsi
    Attached devices:
    Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 03 Lun: 00
      Vendor: HP Model: C5110A Rev: 3638
      Type: Processor ANSI SCSI revision: 02
    root:/ >

    At that point you can try to start (x)scanimage or xsane.
