This is not working either (same result):
# scanimage --device epson:/dev/usbcanner0
[epson] Unknown type R or level K, using B3
scanimage: open of device epson:/dev/usbcanner0 failed: Invalid argument

Nice to hear that in advance.

I was reading several times the FAQ on
http://www.xs4all.nl/~ljm/SANE-faq.html
there seems to be nothing abuot an Invalid argument in there.

As I wrote in my first mail, I am able to see my scanner using
scanimage:
# scanimage --list
[epson] Unknown type R or level K, using B3
device `epson:/dev/usbscanner0' is a Epson Perfection610 flatbed scanner
I don't have any clue about the "Unknown type R or level K" thing and
if this migh be the reason.
