    Hi all,

I'm trying to get my HP scanner connected to an Adaptec 2940 card working
with SANE 1.0.2. It "almost" works, but not quite. I was hopping someone
    would recognize the symptoms.

    First about the system:

    Linux scotty.petersohn.net 2.2.14-5.0 #6 Fri May 19 14:04:37 CDT 2000 i686 unknown
    Kernel modules 2.3.10-pre1
    Gnu C 2.95.2
    Binutils 2.9.5.0.22
    Linux C Library 2.1.3
Dynamic linker ldd (GNU libc) 2.1.3
    Procps 2.0.6
    Mount 2.10f
    Net-tools 1.54
    Console-tools 0.3.3
    Sh-utils 2.0
    Modules Loaded

About the SCSI card and devices:

    Attached devices:
    Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 02 Lun: 00
Vendor: HP Model: C5110A Rev: 3638
Type: Processor ANSI SCSI revision: 02

SCSI storage controller: Adaptec AIC-7871 (rev 0).
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 10. Master Capable.
            Latency=64. Min Gnt=8.Max Lat=8.
            I/O at 0xec00 [0xec01].
            Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xee000000 [0xee000000].

I've attached a sample image to show the corruption (converted to jpg
to reduce the bloat) as well as a SET_DEBUG_HP output from such a scan.
Sometimes the scan completes, sometimes it coredumps. There are no errors
recorded by the kernel on the SCSI bus, it is also not reset at any point.
The problem exists at all resolutions and all bit-depths.

    Thank you,

    Jens Petersohn
