Hi!
I am using xsane 0.35 and sane-1.0.1
When I start a color scan, the scanner first reads the "red"-data. Then the
scanner starts the second pass for "green", eventhough the progress-bar hasn't
reach its end.
The progressbar for "green" doesn`t show anything and the following error pops
up: "Error during read: Error during device I/O"
Then it starts reading the red data again and again...
What's happening?
This scanner works fine with Arno Augustin's Xscan - and it worked on my old
2.0.x Linux with sane-0.7x.
sane-0.7x doesn't work anymore now.
Here the details of my system:
Kernel 2.2.15
I changed in /usr/src/linux/include/scsi/sg.h
#define SG_BIG_BUFF 32768
to
#define SG_BIG_BUFF 130560
and the same in /usr/include/scsi/sg.h
as module: SCSI-Driver 53c7,8xx (I have a SymbiosLogic 810 PCI, which doesn't
work with the ncr53c800 module)
The options are
always negotiate synchr. transfer (N)
allow FAST-SCSI (N)
allow DISCONNECT (N)
Generic SCSI is compiled in
There is also an CD-Writer an a ZIP-drive on the scsi-adapter
"cat /proc/scsi/scsi" tells me:

I hope this is a known and easy to solve problem.
I am trying now for a couple days to solve it on my own - but without any
success.
Thank you for any help,
Christian
