    Hi Lineart-Fans,

    some xsane-versions ago I added some new lineart related functions to xane.
    I was to lazy until now to write a doc for that so I give a short explaination here:

    xsane can do a grayscale preview when lineart mode is selected, it converts the
    grayscale to a black/white image afterwards. That way the threshold value can
    be changed and you see the results without a new preview scan.

    How to use it:
    Menu preferences->setup, notebook "device options"

    select threshold option grayscale->lineart and enter the
    exactly original (not translated => english) name of the grayscale scanmode (eg Gray)

    The four values should normally be ok.

    Bye
    Oliver
