Epson Expression 636 Artist 2 Scanner

Is the scanner form the subject supported by Sane?

It comes ('refurbished') with Adaptec SCSI card (no model name/number
given) and SCSI cable for ~350$.

There are also 'Expression 636 Professional 2' available for ~700$ (check
out http://www.epson.com/whatsnew/promotions/exp636refb.html).

Is this a good deal (well, it's not if it doesn't work with sane anyway)?
