However we should _not_ encourage the use of SANE with a "all drivers
included" version of saned.conf . It might be nice for probing, but
other than that it causes unnecessary overhead _and_ is known to cause
hangs. I always cursed SuSe for default-installing such a "complete"
saned.conf (though their configuration tool _ASKS_ for the scanner type).

I usually leads to Umax (or was it microtek) type scanners making the
HP backend hang forever. Setting up saned.conf correctly cures this.
