This position would be lead technical contact, someone who knows the
backend(s) and knows who else works on them. Someone in this position
need not know the driver in side and out, however he should know how it
works, what scanners are supported, and be able to lend general
assistance. When the problem gets into a part that he doesn't know, the
problem is passed onto the person who would know.
I don't know how many questions they get about linux, but if we have one
contact it would solve their problems. Basicly what they are saying is
that too many people are on the list of possibal people to contact, and
they want one person. (why this list won't do I don't know)
The person in this role should collect the scsi command set to all
scanners, and when someone requests it, get a proper NDA, and then send
the info out. Make sure that the NDA allows code to be distributed of
course. This doesn't imply writting a driver for every backend. (in fact
someone who writes the backend may be so lost in technical details as to
be worthless as a technical contact)
So, Microtek backend devolpers, is there anyone of you able to do this?
