xsane is cool! Better than xscanimage. I'd like to make a suggestion to
Oliver: for output file name, it would be nice to have an automatic
naming scheme. I used another software (Presto!?) on that other OS and
that was one of the nice things about it: I could just scan an image,
remove the photo, put in another one an scan, without worrying about
overwriting the files. THe file names were things like 01.jpg, 02.jpg,
... 09.jpg, 0a.jpg, ... Maybe the system clock would be one option for
autonaming. Just athought.
