High-Performance Scanner for Linux ???

Hello everybody,

thanks for the great work. I'm using an Umax 1220S
at home with SANE and xsane, and it works just great.
(Only minor problem is the warmup of the scanner:
I sometimes get no image, but only grey stripes on
the first scan after the scanner was idle for a
while, any ideas?)

But I now have a customer who is looking for a
high-performance scanner to be used with Linux.
It needs a automatic feeder, and should be
able to scan at least 6 pages per minute at 300 dpi.
It also needs to be good quality and have a long
lifetime. The scanners used now (with Win3.11)
each scanned about 2 million sheets in 2 years.

Does anybody know of such a scanner, that works with
SANE under Linux?

Thanks for your answers
