hi everybody,

i know i have posted this (or better a similar) question twice in this
mailing list but i did not get any answer at all, so i just try it a third
time:
i have a mustek paragon 600 II cd (with the firmware version 2.03
mentioned in the man page).
i have tried the scanner on an adapted 1515 and on an ncr-810a.
now comes my problem if i don't use backtracking the scanner will try to
scan more area than told via the parameters. this will become worse when
using higher resolutions. for example the scanner will go 15 cm when i try
to scan 10 cm with 600dpi (of course an even greater problem is that the
scanner won't stop when the scannable area is over => this means that
scanning 28cm with 600dpi will probably totally ruin the scanner). my
whole experiments where done using gray mode.
any help is appreciated and i am also willing to go into the source code
myself if somebody experienced with sane/scsi programming is willing to
support me (i haven't got the time to hack into a new field of
programming).

hope this time somebody can help me (or answer).
