That is normal for the Mustek scanners. However AFAIK the revision is pretty
high, what matches with the scanner being new.

Hmm - you _could_ try to hack the backend to ignore the unknown model
and proceed.
But don't tell me I didn't warn you, if it crashes and burns you scanner.

Yeah - hack the source. However this is not something for the faint of heart.

Be sure to know what you are doing, if you do it. You may permanently damage
your scanner, if the driver is incompatible with the new firmware revision.

Not that I want to discourage you. If all goes well, you just add the model
number and it works. But be careful when doing so. Start at small
resolutions and scan areas. The main problem showing up with new versions
of that brand is, that the length of the scan area is wrong, what causes the
guides to jump off the rails etc.

Mustek doesn't have money to spare for a few microswitches at the end of
the path ...
