Hi Folks,

(sorry this is long)
i can't get my Mustek-Scanner (brand-new) to work with SANE 1.0
1. it works under Windows, so hardware is ok
2. kernel reports : (i have a ncr810-like adapter)
--------------------------------------------------
scsi-ncr53c7,8xx : at PCI bus 0, device 11, function 0
scsi-ncr53c7,8xx : warning : revision of 18 is greater than 2.
scsi-ncr53c7,8xx : NCR53c810 at memory 0xf2000000, io 0x6100, irq 9
scsi0 : burst length 8
scsi0 : reset ccf to 3 from 0
scsi0 : NCR code relocated to 0x2b8600 (virt 0x002b8600)
scsi0 : test 1 started
scsi0 : NCR53c{7,8}xx (rel 17)
scsi : 1 host.
Vendor: SCANNER Model: Rev: 2.02
Type: Scanner ANSI SCSI revision: 01 CCS
Detected scsi generic sga at scsi0, channel 0, id 6, lun 0
scsi : detected total.
---------------------------------------------------
The
"Vendor: SCANNER Model: Rev: 2.02"
line seems odd. (note : no Model? ;revison 2.02)
3. find-scanner reports :
--------------------------------------------------
find-scanner: found scanner "SCANNER 2.02" at device /dev/scanner
find-scanner: found scanner "SCANNER 2.02" at device /dev/sga
--------------------------------------------------

Now when i set debugging-levels to maximum and start
"scanimage -d mustek:/dev/sga"
i get
--------------------------------------------------
[dll] adding backend mustek
[dll] loading backend mustek
[dll] dlopen()ing `/usr/local/lib/sane/libsane-mustek.so.0'

[dll] calling backend `mustek's exit function
--------------------------------------------------
It seems i get a very odd model "` C06 S12IDWM123797`@`b``'"
I think this is the problem. Now, what can i do?
Can i override the model somehow?

i would appreciate any help, for it would drive me mad if i hat to
boot windoze every time i wanted to scan :-((

thanks
