Document storage system?

I just went through the mailing list for sane as archived off the main
Web page.

Having just found the SANE project today, this seemed to be the best
place to ask my question.

I am looking for a piece of software running under FreeBSD/Linux which
allows a person to:

1. Scan images under Unix
2. Save these images as a file
3. use postgresql to index/access these images

What I'm looking for is a document storage and retrieval system. The
eventual purpose is to tie the scanned images to my accounting system of
choice. If the free money project (http://www.telly.org) bears fruit, I
would integrate it into free money. Otherwise, I'll tie at into Cougar
Mountain Accounting.

It is anyone working on a document storage system using sane? If such a
project needs a home, I should be able to give it storage space and network
space.
