Oh I'm lame. It really helps if you unlock the lamp on the scanner.
It works perfectly now! Great package guys!

Also that error message I was getting was for UMAX users...really
confusing for a newbie like me...perhaps the message should
say "is currently an unrecognized UMAX device" or quitely fail
like the other back-end seem to do. Please read the following
from Oliver Rauch:
