Well, apparently you don't take my word for it, so I suggest to get
sane-0.67 and do:
$ ls sane-0.67/sanei
You'll find a file called sanei_ab306.c. If you look in the header of
that file, it says:
This file implements the Mustek-proprietary SCSI-over-parallel-port
interface. */
I gave the caveats and pointers to how to setup a parallel-port
scanner in a previous mail, so I won't repeat them here.

PS: How come you buy a scanner without knowing what interface it has?
Isn't that mentioned somewhere on the box and/or user's manual?
