mustek owners: check your scsi cabling!

OK, I think I found one reason I had all kinds of weird problems with
my Mustek scanner since my move: the problem was due to incorrect SCSI
termination. After terminating the 25-pin connector on the Mustek
scanner (Paragon 600 II SP, in my case), I no longer see any
horizontal shifts.

If you see a similar problem, you might want to look into your scsi
cabling. I'm by no means a scsi termination expert, but I think the
scsi-howto has a pretty good section on termination issues.

If scsi termination turns out to fix your problem, please let me know.
