Probably the only place where people might read it, would be to check for
a ~/.scanimagerc and if it is not there, create it and warn and ask the
user to enter "YES, I have read it." ...
However I have heard from people with a MFS 600 CD which simply disassembled
the scanner, fiddled the strings which pull the scanner-slider back onto its
reels and it was fine again.
