This would be good. The pbmscan backend is not the only driver that will
show such a behaviour. Handscanners are the same (though it makes no sense
here to do a preview), but you can never know the length of a scan.
The same is true for several "Feeder-Type" scanners (what is a good english
word for those scanners ?) ...
