    OK, I downloaded and buitl 1.0.4 without any problems at all.

    prompt% ./configure
    prompt% make

    and everything was done.

    But then the UMAX parralel port stuff was just added in 1.0.5 and that
    is the stuff causing the problem at the moment.

    It would be nice if we could just specify the backends that we want
    built, rather then building all of them, all i need is the backend
    that lets me scan stuff from my UMAX scsi Astra.

    Maybe a future enhnancement ?
