    Hi,

    I have a Bit more info conerning the MaxiScan A4 scanner operating with gimp...

    This is what I got when calling gimp from my console window (under KDE V2.0)

    [hankey@ceri2 hankey]$ gimp
    I then clicked on....
     
    'acquire image...'
    'device dialog...'
    'snapscan:/dev/sga...'

    and got on console screen...

    The program then hangs until ^C is pressed!

    gimp is v 1.1.25, xscan used is...

    [hankey@ceri2 hankey]$ xscanimage -V
    xscanimage (sane-frontends) 1.0.4

    Backends are also 1.0.4

    If anybody knows what the above cryptic messages mean, please let me know.
