    Not in 2.2 kernels and also not in the 2.4.2 kernel. That misfeature
    was introduced when support for the new_eh code in 2.3 was added and
    removed again in 2.4.2. So unless you use a kernel >=2.3 and <2.4.2
    you won't see this behaviour.

    The aha1542 driver still does that.
