    Some hints about SANE-backends is in doc/backend-writing.txt (in the
    CVS version). The SANE API is explained in the SANE standard (see
    website).

    You need to get information about how to "talk" to the scanner. The
    best thing is to get documentation and/or the Windows driver source
    from the producer of your scanner. Maybe he doesn't like to do this.

    may help a bit but it's a lot of work.
