In the "SANE backend for Canon scanners" web page
( http://www.rzg.mpg.de/~mpd/sane/ ) there is a large
warning that a patch is required to the Linux sg driver.

Due to work done by Abel Deuring in current versions of
SANE, I believe this patch should no longer be required
in lk 2.4.0 . Could somebody test this and confirm that
this is true (or otherwise).
