Well, thank you for your answer.
First, the command
SANE_DEBUG_MUSTEK=255 scanimage -L 2>dbg.log
has no output. So I think a bit and try
SANE_DEBUG_MUSTEK=255 scanimage -d mustek:/dev/scanner -T >& dbg.log
which has a much more interesting output which you can see in the attached
file. But I think that the problem is in the beginning at the line :
[mustek] sane_init: couldn't find config file (mustek.conf), trying /dev/scanner directly
Why doesn't it find the configuration file ? It has been placed in /etc/sane.d
by the make install as I asked in the configure option.
