The TODO file says, you'd need to be root to start saned... I don't
think this is true...
(~/mysane.bin/bin) $ ../sbin/saned -d0 &
could not find sane in /etc/services using 6566 (default port) blabla
(~/mysane.bin/bin) $ ./scanimage -L
found devices
net:localhost:pnm:0
net:localhost:pnm:1
pnm:0
pnm:1
(~/mysane.bin/bin) $
[1] saned Terminated
this works without root privileges... good enough for testing the
architecture
