I am currently using sane 1.0.3 (microtek2 backend) on Linux 2.2.17pre5
with ScanMaker X6EL and I have the following problem:
-> A bright vertical line artifact appears in all images scanned in
the middle of the scan bed when "backtracking" is enabled and/or
"backend color calibration" is disabled. When BOTH "backtracking" is
disabled and "backend color calibration" is enabled then the artifact
becomes intermittent (i.e. I usually get an artifact free scan after
4-5 attempts). The brightness of the artifact seems to be data and
scan dependent.
FYI, the same problem occurs with sane 1.0.2 and 1.0.1.
Any help and clues towards resolving this problem would be greatly
appreciated.
George
