I'm not so sure. I have only one sane installed and I can work perfectly
well with xscanimage as root. Xsane, of course, don't works on root. On the
other hand, if I log in with my
personal user, I can't use xscanimage and receive, if I try, the following
message:
Gtk - CRITICAL**:file gtkmain.c:line 534 (gtk_main_quit): assertion
'main_loops !=NULL' failed.
But I can't too use xsane, since I receive the 'x:sane: no device available'
message.
So, on the better of the worlds I would like be capable of use on my
personal user either xscanimage with Gimp and xsane. On a most real worlds,
I would be satisfied if will be able to work with xscanimage as root, and
with xsane on my personal user.
Thanks
Alvaro
