weird stripe

    Hello All!

    This is an HP 5p under RedHat 6.1, kernel 2.2.12-20, and SANE 1.0.2.

    Can anyone give a clue about the cause of this 'stripe' in scans? I can't
    even identify if it's a software or hardware problem. It runs straight
    down the length of every image, and makes about 2.5" worth of the scanner
    useless.
