    Hallo,

does anybody has installed SANE under HPUX 10.20? My problem is, I want to
install a HP ScanJet 4c with SANE 1.0.1 under HPUX 10.20. I have installed all
the necessary additional libraries like glib and gtk+. I used binaries that you
can get at the Software Porting And Archive Centre for HP-UX. These libraries
    will be installed at /opt/...
The compilation with gcc was ok, without any errors. But when I used the tool
find-scanner there was no available scanner except the virtual devices. I made
two device files with mknod (1. /dev/scanner and 2. /dev/scanjet). I think the
problem not to find the scanner is more a HPUX problem than a SANE problem.
Does anybody has experince to create this device file? Another question is
related to the compilation of SANE: At www.mostang.com it is written that SANE
has compiled with the HPUX compiler. Is that necessary?

    Thanks for your help,
    Matthias
