Maybe I am just one of the lucky ones. But, I configured my UMAX Astra 1220S
Scanner on Redhat 6.1
Linux using the DB25 SCSI Card that was supplied with it by UMAX. So, I didn't
have to spend any additional money.
:-)
I executed the following command as root:
/sbin/insmod g_NCR5380 ncr_irq=255 ncr_addr=0x280 dtc_3181e=1
Then, sane-1.0.1 with the UMAX patch (build 18) recognized my scanner & worked.
