I guess the slider issue could be changed in xsane. The old way this
was handled in the Epson backend for the preview resolution used a
slider and displayed only the "real" resolutions. Oliver is not
using the SANE slider for the resolution setting, he is doing something
special so that he can hide or display it at will. I assume that it
shluld be possible to emulate the resolution selection via slider
even if the scanner reports a list.
