Depends if you look at /proc/scsi/scsi or the result of SANE_DEBUG...
I'd opt for a thing like V100/38, to include on the supported scanner
page.
If I remember well (I trashed that output) running DEBUG=3 with scanimage
gave me the XCO6 S12IDWtrailingcharshere, and promted me to stick my
nose into the sources. I suppose I must add this to mustek.h and
mustek.c, but is there something else to do ?

My pleasure. Beware, don't confuse the 12000SP and 12000SP Plus, as I
bought this scanner as I thought it was directly supported by
SANE... well now it will be :-)
Now I have to figure out why xsane can't find libsane-dll.so.1 when it's
available...
