Sigh. I've been in communications with Minolta about getting specs
for their scanners for nearly a year now. About three or four
months ago, they told me they were finally preparing a NDA for
developers to sign, which would be available momentarily.
No news since. Until Minolta releases those specs, a SANE backend
will not be possible.
If Linux support is a priority, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for
a scanner. This one might eventually be supported under Linux, but
probably not anytime soon.
David
David, is there any update on this? If you're not chasing them anymore
could you give us contact details so someone can pick up where you left
off instead of starting from scratch with their local Minolta.
Alternatives are to use WINE to snoop on the SCSI activity of Minolta's
Windows driver.

No, thanks for that. A UK `Digital Photo FX' magazine ranked the
Minolta Scan Dual Dimage top of the range for its price. That's why
I'm interested in getting one.
Ralph.
