Hi Bernd,

In the meantime, I asked my wife who is at home to perform the new
microtek2 backend test. She compiled and installed sane-1.0.1 with the new
backend, but while launching xsane, she got:

... snip ...
d/l of HT pattern :No
Builtin HT pattern :0
LUT capabilities :None

Misellaneous capabilities..

Data format :Line by line in
concatenated sequence, without color indicator
Color sequence :B - G -R
Scanning direction :Right to left
CCD gap :0 lines
CCD pixels :5100
Calib white stripe location :-207
Max calib space :48
Number of lens :1
Max number of windows :8
Shading transfer function :0
Red balance :218
Green balance :232
Blue balance :237
Buffer type :Ring
FEPROM :No
Segmentation fault

As you can se, she got a nice segfault at the end. I don't know if this is
a useful information to you. Previously (with the October 16th release of
microtek2) I never got segfaults. My system is Debian Slink, Celeron 333A,
32 MB of RAM.
What do you propose to find the fault's origin?

Levente
