Mustek 12000 SP Plus

Last week I bought a Mustek 12000 SP and get a "12000 SP Plus" Modell.
The Debug-Output from mustek shows a different Produkt ID and strange
Firmware Version.

[mustek] scsi_wait_ready: sending TEST_UNIT_READY
[mustek] attach: firmware revision 38.00
[mustek] attach: found Mustek scanner model XC06 S12IDW (flatbed
scanner), 1-pass, SEi

I changed the mustek.desc file to get it work and it seems to work fine.

Is this a new version for the Hardware List?

What should I do to test the compatibility?
