Seg Fault in X Scane

I have a 2.2.10/RH6.0 box where the X server (xsis-3.1.0) seg faults whenever I
use either xscanimage (1.0.1) and xsane (0.31). This occurs infrequently but
quite reliably (it will do it with say 5 scans). The machine is a K6-2-350
with a PC100 M598 mother board, a Adaptec 2930 SCSI card (using AIC-7xxx
module), an HP 4c scanner, and a Sis 530 AGP video card. Other than this the
machine is quite stable.
